Let’s take a look at places that present stunning autumn foliage!
1. First out is Hallstatt in Austria. This Alpine town is set by a lake. This is also a convenient stop between Graz and Salzburg. If you fancy some sporty activity, you can also head out on Lake Hallstatt for some paddleboarding or rowing. Also, don’t forget to admire the view from Skywalk Hallstatt which is 360 meters above the town.
2. Colmar in France dates back to medieval times and it is very visible with the old bridge and architecture. The city’s cobbled streets take you around both cultural treats and through time, as you explore this town that has authentic Alsatian design architecture.
3. The Loire Valley in France and its vineyards are as inviting in autumn as in summer. As the colour palette changes in autumn, the valley with its fresh air becomes a great place to go for long hikes. As you travel through the Loire Valley, you will come across one or more of the 22 castles. Most of these were built in the 15th and 16th century, so be prepared for some magnificient renaissance architecture. One of these is the Villandry castle and gardens, which changes colour in a spectacular way with autumn.
